Bits and pieces of my travel journal: Passing by Danish Art

It's almost the end of summer and I'm already wondering where to travel to this winter. During my visit last winter to the amazing city of Stockholm , I run into many tiny shops that where all beautiful to browse around or just stare at their perfect windows. E  Torndahl  that states for Scandinavian design since 1864 is definitely one of them I took some quick photo's as I had no time to go inside but the windows where great to look at already. Ones back home I entered their website and it shows some beautiful stationary , and jewelry . You can find them downtown  Gamla Stan right in the main streets but don't just follow the crowd as ones you step into a small ally you are assured to run into many cute shops with either vintage clothing or particular Danish art and furniture. Bits and pieces of my travel journal : Travel_Mood STOCKHOLM

STOCKHOLM SURROUNDED BY LAKE MALAREN AND BALTIC SEA, STOCKHOLM CONSISTS OF 14 ISLANDS AND IS CONNECTED BY 57 BRIDGES........ This alone already made me wanna leave right away. Christmas is just along the way and I believe the city is a beautiful in the summer as it is in the winter time, even though I got told it will be dark at 3 pm it will be cold and most probably rainy this all doesn't scare a Dutch travel junky. So now I'm planning my next trip and browsing on the web for some good tips I run into a fabulous blog of " stockholm-what-to-know-before-you-go " it's very handy and down to earth, compact and full of all basic info you need to know before you leave. While checking out some good places to have lunch or breakfast I loved this one " coffee shops in Stockholm " Found some good info on this blog with perfect tips from locals to visit the must see museums, must lunch at places and should buy trends " Stockholm city guide ...

Bits and pieces of my travel journal : A hidden treasure

Vicenza, small town nearby Venezia , old beautiful, architectural, amazing history a real treasure hidden between many places. 10 minutes walk from the railway station , had to wait an hour for the next train so decided to have a walk. This little walk ended up to be one of those relaxing discovery's of a place I never thought was worth seeing . It has many old precious buildings you can see a lot of Venice in this small town, ended up in trendy industrial bar inside an old jewelry laboratory, museum and small shops. Just wonder around and you will notice many little streets that come together in a gorgeous piazza right at the centre of this historical town. with love mft

Bits and pieces of my travel journal : St-Morits _ Livigno

I love to share these two fantastic places Livigno in the north of Italy and St-Morits , where I stayed for a short trip right after new year. It was my first time at Livigno but it's a great place to visit with not only lots of nice and unique shops as well as lots to do for active persons, you could make a great trip on the back of a horse on the ice and snow fields in the middle of the city center, ice skating, skiing , snowboarding basically everything, but te part I loved the most was just simply the nature , surrounded by beautiful mountains.... During our short stay we took the red train The Bernina Express  from Tirano to St-Morits, a simple but incredible journey through the mountains that I recommend to everyone at any time of the year as the view is absolutely stunning. Bits and pieces of my travel journal : Pian del Re

The perfect place for a relaxing hike in the mountains, yes indeed relaxing as I'm not that big climbing and hiking fan so little by little and a small distance and height at a time will do just fine for me. Pian del Re a beautiful nature reserve is in the north of Italy nearby Turin, it's where the river the Po starts it's way through Italy. Half way through you will be able to have lunch at a   Baita  which will offer you a stunning view, nearby there are hundreds of little ice-water streams where you can have a break while preparing yourself for the second part of the climbing up to a beautiful green lake ( of which I'll come back to you with a separate post ) Created and captured with love  mft

Bits and pieces of my travel journal: Torino

Torino is my second home since I left holland. Eventhough I always lived in the suburbs around Torino, it is the place where I work , love to shop and walk and go out for an aperetivo or dinner. And every now and then I just go for a walk in park Valentino such as the other day it was nice and warm weather and I took molly for a long walk in the park, where I managed to capture these moments. with love mft

Bits and piece of my travel journal : Hong Kong Night Life

Capturing the skyline of Hong Kong by night,  Every now and then I'm lucky enough to be able to pass by or stay a few days at Hong Kong , That city has something magical despites of the fact that it's a hugh and very crowdy city with many sky scrapers it some how gives me a special relaxed and calm feeling. The temperature is always great it's soft, warm but nice and in spring there is always a breeze while you walk along the seaside. Starring at all these buildings all these different architecture around you is fantastic. never had enough free time to really get to now this city , but sooner or later I will. All images I captured with my Canon reflex with love mft

Bits and pieces of my travel journal : Harbour of Arregai

The harbour of Arregai is a small harbour located at the Ligurian coast in the north of Italy. We usually have breakfast there on Sunday morning kind of a family tradition when we stay at our summer home in San Lorenzo where we go in the weekend and whenever we are able to. We like to watch the beautiful boats as it's a small harbour but yet they have some amazing sailing boats. I captured the below pictures on a beautiful day when there was absolutely no wind, the calm sea turned into a mirror. All photography captured with my Canon With love mft

Bits and pieces of my travel journal : Taiwan

Taiwan was one of the many places I did never visit before. I was there for work but never the less I always manage to see something while it either during a short lunch break in which i always suggest to walk to the restaurant this way I'm able to take some air as every single building or hotel is airco-cold . We had lunch in the Taipei 101 tower formerly known as the Taipei world financial center , it was world's tallest building till 2004 until the Burj Khalifa in Dubai was completed. And while walking over there I managed to capture the art in front of it and some characteristic homes in the neighborhood. p.s The lunch was amazing! Lifestyle Inspiration: Cultures & Colours

Chefchaouen is a city in Morocco, in the province of the same name in the region of Tanger-Tétouan. The inhabitants belong to the Berber tribes of the Rif and Arabs......this is what I found when I run into these gorgeous images of a place called Chefchaouen in Morocco where you find the most incredible intense colours and shades of blue. I usually write about places I have visited but this time I wanted to share a place that's on my bucket list. It's one of those magical places which one needs to visit at least ones in a lifetime. Morocco always inspired me , the amazing colours you can find there and the architecture is absolutely stunning, would love to visit this specific place one day and capture every angel with my Canon!                                 ...

Bits and pieces of my travel journal: LANZAROTE

Most of my Italian friends who live in the nord of Italy take the opportunity to visit the mountains for a perfect ski break but I Just came back from a short winter-new year break to Lanzarote ,it's a real interruption from the cold winter to a warm 21° at the Canarian Islands, and I love the have some sun  to upload my energy for the rest of the winter in Italy. I've been visiting these islands since I was a child and I used to tour around the entire island while I was there but now with the kids I just love to have a week of total relax, long walks on the beach a drink around the swimming pool , reads lots of magazines and books and just enjoy the silence. My favourite is Fuerteventura especially for the quiet nature and beautiful beaches, however Lanzarote is pretty nice as well. I captured some pictures to share with you (even though I did not bring my Canon but just my Samsung smart phone, all pictures have been t...

PHOTOGRAPHY BLACKBOARD : First snow up in the mountains

It's been a while that I took my camera along and enjoyed the first walk in the snow. So last weekend we finally got out there, even though it was a short day it was enough to make you feel good and to breath some real fresh air. We went to visit Gressonay  which find itself at the bottom of the Monte Rosa here below on the background. At an altitude of 1.644 M Gressonay La Trinitè is the highest village in Lys valley, the beauty of this spot is at a certain time of the afternoon the Monte Rosa turns actually pink as the the name states, however I had to leave too early to capture this, but this little town is a fantastic place to just have a relaxing walk , there is a small lake where you can go ice skating surrounded by huge pines.                 Created by Martine

Bits & Pieces of my Travel Journal :INDONESIA

As it turned out to be a lazy Sunday afternoon at home I went back to my "Bits & Pieces of my travel journal that I started to work on some posts ago and today I want to go back to one of my visits to Indonesia - Java. As there are already more then enough specialised bloggers about travelling I only want to share some personal thoughts on photography and experiences . All pictures where captured during my trip but it was the time that digital camera's weren't available yet so I re-photographed them recently hope they didn't loose their colours. It has been one of my best travel experiences when we visited Java and Bali but let me take you to Java first, an Amazing Island that can be described as an explosion of culture that takes your breath away , it's the smell of the green rise fields and tea plantations, the beauty of the local people and the colours of everything around you that makes it so special....
