HOME_DECORATION: Sharing Home Concept Amsterdam

HOME & DECOR: Sharing Home Concept Amsterdam Just wanted to share this fantastic home in the Netherlands , renovated from a studio atelier complex to a beautiful warm natural minded home in Amsterdam. Together with the architect John guy van Keulen the owner managed to re-use many materials such as the old bricks and create this gorgeous home. Love the floor made of concrete with a special Epoxy coating on top,as well as the white neutral wood used throughout the entire home. The bedroom is just perfect and i love the fact they used some accessories of Ikea ( bed lamp) and Zara (plaid) as well as usually in the magazines you just find yourself in the designer world way beyond our budget. The old wooden entrance door has been taken from an old French country home, absolutely stunning and how about the shutters in the kitchen ( could be an easy DIY item) !                                                Styling Marianne Luning/photography Ji

BLACK!         S tunning D etails........     Rock metal A ccents...... I prefer the soft materials and knitwear in nude colours combination with black leather but I also love the outfit just here above with the different layers of black materials used in combination with the leather jacket. Lifestyle Inspiration : DIY FALL INSPIRATION

It's been a while now that I wanted to change a bit on what and how I share my thoughts in my posts. And as this blog is also a kind of journal of thoughts and experiences every now and then I'll just have to try some posts and see if they feel good or not , this is one of them..... As I love to create things and carry out my idea's whether in writing, photographing or just creating things with anything I can find around me, I love the fall season and winter season mostly for this (other then the beautiful nature outside but as I simply hate being in the cold I prefer to stay inside and make my home cosy and warm with handmade things. On the web I found these lovely leafs and acorns made of felt and some coloured yarn, felt is one of my favourite material to work with as it's so easy to handle and you can obtain really great results.                             Here below some acorn garlands whether you like it colour full or more ton sur ton, t

Bits & Pieces of my Travel Journal :INDONESIA

As it turned out to be a lazy Sunday afternoon at home I went back to my "Bits & Pieces of my travel journal that I started to work on some posts ago and today I want to go back to one of my visits to Indonesia - Java. As there are already more then enough specialised bloggers about travelling I only want to share some personal thoughts on photography and experiences . All pictures where captured during my trip but it was the time that digital camera's weren't available yet so I re-photographed them recently hope they didn't loose their colours. It has been one of my best travel experiences when we visited Java and Bali but let me take you to Java first, an Amazing Island that can be described as an explosion of culture that takes your breath away , it's the smell of the green rise fields and tea plantations, the beauty of the local people and the colours of everything around you that makes it so special.    Here below the image of a b

HOME_DECORATION: Metalic & Fur mixed Elements

Just love opposite materials from steel and zinc to soft fur and furniture, especially in the winter period I'm taking out the cosy blankets, here below some nice ones with a mixture of knitwear and faux fur . I just purchased one very nice and soft faux fur plaid to put over the sofa and to cuddle away in the evening. I like to mix these soft materials also with shiny aluminium items, just simple hearths which I found previous winter in one of these Dutch home gardens will  do but the extraordinary round light balls in the middle mood boards are my favourite's though. Metallic & Fur mixed  Elements are taking you into the cosy but Trendy Winter Mood! Accents on shiny illumination and fury, Details It's all about the natural soft  yet strong, Accents Created by Martine

Bits & Pieces of my Travel Journal: LA VENARIA REALE

A Day at L a Venaria Reale & L a Mandria.   Last Sunday we went for a walk as it was one of those grey foggy autumn Sundays and we just went outside for some air and had a walk in the beautiful park of La Mandria and its small characteristic old city centre Venaria that runs into The Reggia of Venaria Reale and the Royal Residence of La Mandria. The Reggia is a beautiful baroque styled palace that inspired Duke Carlo Emanuele II of Savoy who, in the mid-17th century, conceived the plan for the Reggia di Venaria and gave it this name.   Since 2007 it's completely renovated and open to the public we didn't go inside this time but we are planning to next time so I'll be back on this post as it's worth visiting and most of all Worth sharing.                      (all pictures are captured by me except the image of the gorgeous room).   created by Martine

After a crazy week in the office I'm spending some spare time on the web , thanks also to an ugly weather...Some of my closest girlfriends had babies recently , so I was browsing on some kids sites... ...I find these images of kids furniture and toys simply adorable and will take inspiration for some lovely presents!                                                                                                      Created by Marzia

Write_Create_Share: Captured Nature Moments

After a view days I purchased my new reflex camera I just became madly in love with it. Yet still so far away from the real shooting I'm really enjoining every minute of it by going just right outside my home and capture nature and places around it ( and Italy is realy amazingly beautiful ). I wanted to share these shoots without too many words ( as I usually like to add some thoughts to all my posts I believe that it's time to just be quiet and share the moment.....   Created by Martine

MOOD_BOARD: Bright Fall Moondust

Now that fall is there  I felt the need to make some changes in my home interior. During my Holiday in Holland I already gathered some idea's, as might know from my previous posts we have these fantastic DIY stores where you can collect colour swatches. Here above and below I added some of the  Flexa colour inspirations,as well as the samples they have for wall paper on both mood boards. The ones with wood and tree pattern are beautiful you could so easely create a small wall behind the sofa or around a fireplace which would give a fantastic look. It doesn't have to be a drastic and expensive change but some little new thouches here and there with help of the above idea's can give you a complete new interior.      The above photograph I made of my brand new mirror, it's huge but it found a perfect spot just above the sofa in our living room, it creates space and peace and fits perfectly in with our whitewashed opium table .
